Grafton Township welcomed 2014 with cold, wind and snow. On the upside, it also opened a new chapter in property assessment accuracy and customer service when Alan Zielinski became the first new Township Assessor in almost a quarter century.

The Grafton Township Assessor has submitted the books for your 2013 assessment to the McHenry County Assessors Office.

We have been notified by the county, that our official 2013 County Equalized Property Assessments will be published sometime near the end of June. Please watch your mail and this website for further information, or for your notices to arrive. Once published you will have 30 days to file any appeals that you feel are justified.

If you have questions or need assistance, please contact your Grafton Township Assessors Office.

Your Grafton Township Assessors Office would like to remind everyone, that we do not send out the tax bills. We receive many calls each day asking when we will send them - the short answer is: never. If you call the assessors office to complain about your property tax bill, we will be respectful and listen, but there is little to nothing that we can do to lower your tax rates. The primary thing we can do is make sure that you have all of your current exemptions that you qualify to receive. Please understand that it is months too late to modify 2012 assessments, which are the assessments used...
